It took 5 wks but i now hav my modified petrol tank sat at home. And hav ordered a fuel filter and some fuel line for the relocation.

As i decided not to lift it and cut the wheel arches out instead i hav fitted sum 30mm wheel spacers. Now need big ass arches to cover em as the tyres are sticking out 6".

On the way now are brake discs and rancho shocks and steering damper.

The additional width with the 30mm wheel spacers. They stick out approx 6" so I'm gonna fabricate some new sheet steel wheel arches as it seems to be the cheapest option.

Also the Rough Country shox c/o Dave @ Llama 4x4. Can't stress how helpful both Dave and Nigel @ Supertrux have been.

Finally, the Rough Country steering damper kit. It's a nice bit of kit just bolts straight on. However if I could of got a standard damper I would as it (the new damper) seems quite vulnerable to being bashed or even ripped off if your as enthusiastic as I can be. It hangs down in front of the axle unlike the original tucked in behind the chassis. So the fitment of a steering guard may now be mandatory.
I do have a red shock boot for this damper too but havn't fitted it yet as to fit it right and get all the clearance right i needed to be able to see how extended it was. so you have to fit it and tighten the brackets up, remove the damper and fit the shock boot then refit the damper. There isn't much clearance at all on the diff but it's the first time i've used this kit. So it may be trial and error.

Don't know if any one remembers but a while ago i cudnt get my SU setup rite it just wudnt run. We now have action. I think having not ran for a while the fuel pump had seized up a bit. So after much tinkering and throwin petrol straight in the carb it finally roared into life. It still seems to be racing but once i have an air filter on it and fit a water jacket to the adapter im hoping it will run even smoother. To say im chuffed tho is an understatement.

Back to the waiting game. At least for a few days. Whilst i have new discs, pads,shoes and brake pistons i dont have any brake lines. At all. None.

Ordered all five (also getting the ones for the inside of the wing) from Llama 4x4 and will get all copper from partco. Hoping im not working at the wkend.

I also need to aquire sum sheet steel 3mm thick for bumper brackets. A colleague of mine is loading steel tomorrow so ive asked him to have a word. I only need a small amount and am hoping they may have sum scraps.

Still chuffed i finally got it runing on the SU.

Who knows. May even try for an MOT this side of xmas.

Yeah, its taken me long enuf to get it done. I feel better now tho. Having found out a mate of mine had a moggy thou and only put it on the road a few month back. He'd only had it in the garage 18 years.

I think i have almost everything to finish it now. Gona try nget the front end back on at wkend too so it will. Fingers crossed start. Drive. Stop. And look somewhere near finishd too.

It's a labour of love. Sum refer to it as a sickness.
