converting to pick up

Anybody want to share there ideas on how to convert to pick up.

I am thinking of cutting up my old soft top roof to cover the top then possable board the back off then spray thin steel plate to back and paint it same as car and seal it up

Im not a fan of chequer plate so find ways not to use it.

Or use a rear door off a hard top sj??

Any ideas will be a help...... And pictures

I like the soft top pick up's that way if you need to go back to a proper roof you have all the bits needed & you don't have to weld anything to your bodywork

Have a look on my build thread on the later pages, mine has a soft top tailgate welded in as a bulkhead and the the back off an old soft top to close the cab.

Oh and a removable aluminium roof

that pick up bikini top is exspencive but good. my sj dont even owe me that much yet.

hi im converting my 1990 sj convertible into a pick up soon .i was thinking a checker plate bulkhead popriveted on with a window in .and cuting up the old softtop to cover the roof .and a water proof trailer cover to cover pick up back.
