My rear axle is making a wired squiqqing noise
It is quite when going 40mph on flat in neutral but when I put it back in.gear it happens is this the ujs in.the prop
Wheel bearings are ok just checked and there is no play also I replaced one of them 3 months ago
Also I.jacked the rear end up on axle stands made sure it was in 2wd and placed it in gear and there was no noise at all with the wheels spinnin g in.the air

Hmm id be tempted to check the ujs just in case, they do make some odd noises when failing.
In regards to no noise when jacked up, it could be because they are not under load

I was going to say that too.
I reckon it's the UJs. With the wheels in the air the UJs don't have any real forces acting on them. On the ground when you accelerate/deccelerate they do.
If it was bearings then you'd get it regardless of if you were in gear or not.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Could be a bearing. I had one crack all the way round the outer race, felt fine when I checked it but pulled it all apart to find what was making the hideous noise and got a surprise

I'm going with UJ's too. Next time your out take a can of wd40 and squirt each uj one at a time as you go. It's no permanent solution but will tell you a) is it a uj b) which one.
